Some weeks, the wait between weekends is just too long to go without catching up with friends for a cheeky mid-week drink and some delicious snacks. When we launched our Piña Colada and Australian Birds coaster packs, we had this exact type of celebration in mind: the kind where the food is more canapé than 3-course, the conversation is flowing and the drinks are fabulous-er than your usual mid-week fare. No excuse needed: this week, get some of your closest over to play hostess with the most-est!

Look One: Golden Girls
Before Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha, there were another group of fabulous ladies who would be right at home throwing a mid-week soirée. We have channeled our inner Golden Girls to bring you this classy take on a traditional Gin and Tonic, complete with glamorous gold, black and white. Hot tip: We love Fever Tree tonic water, the bottles are a cute size and the label is lovely!

What you'll need:
• Hendrick's Gin
• Fever Tree Tonic Water
• Lime or Cucumber
• Ice Blocks

Serve with:
• Brie, quince paste with water crackers or crusty bread ... for a tasty one-handed snack (the other is for your drink!)

Recreate the look:

• Purchase your gin in the mini-size for each guest, so they can mix to their own preference (and it totally ups the cute factor).



Look Two: Pretty in Pink
Keep it clean and classy with this pretty non-alcoholic number, perfectly paired with our Australian Birds coasters. The addition of the bitters to pink lemonade creates a beautiful ombré effect that makes a simple drink a bit more special. To keep your orange spirals tight, drop them into a glass of ice water immediately after creating the spiral.

• Pink Lemonade
• Angostura Bitters
• Citrus Rind
• Ice Blocks

Serve with:
• Turkish bread and a respectable amount of dip
• Summer fruits (to pretend its "healthy")
